Staff Meeting

Tonight’s staff meeting which focussed on spelling was well received and people participated actively in discussion. It seemed to run smoothly, although much more time could have been spent on the Scope and Sequence at the start. Aspects that could have been improved are: accountability of groups to report back/ make a commitment, making Professional Learning Communities more of a focus with a leadership person in each team.

I felt comfortable and confident presenting information. I hope that some queries were clarified, as prior to this there seemed to be some people who were uncomfortable about some of Stephen Graham’s suggestions.

Follow up:

  1. Email link to English@PPS blog to staff
  2. Check with Alex re handwriting A4 sheet
  3. Order some more Spelling books
  4. Order some more posters for classrooms
  5. Get a spreadsheet organised for SWST Data collection
  6. Collate list of identified students in each class and strategies identified to support these.
